It started with a phone call. In November 2024, our team at the Halifax Convention Centre was contacted by World’s Greatest, a popular television series based in the United States, airing on the Bloomberg Network since 2021. After a few rounds of interviews, we received the exciting news: the Halifax Convention Centre would be featured as the World’s Greatest Convention Centre. 

We shared our story of a place that reflects its community — a Centre that champions local food and suppliers, welcomes every guest with care, and creates lasting economic and social impacts for Halifax and Nova Scotia. On June 10, the cameras rolled inside the Centre. It was a day filled with pride as our executive leadership team, along with Nova Scotia's Premier Tim Houston, the province's Minister of Growth & Development Colton LeBlanc, and Andy Fillmore, the Mayor of Halifax Regional Municipality, stepped in front of the lens to share with the world what makes Halifax and Nova Scotia shine. 

Since opening in 2018, Halifax Convention Centre has welcomed nearly 1,000 events, over half a million guests, and generated more than $325 million in economic impact for the city and province. This recognition is a testament to the people behind the scenes who make every event possible. Our Local menu features over 100 food and beverage suppliers from all seven regions of Nova Scotia, and our award-winning culinary team elevates every event.

Episode 401 of World’s Greatest aired in September and captured the heart of what makes the Halifax Convention Centre the world's greatest convention centre: the people, the place, and the pride of our community.
